Conference on food and poverty
Multi-disciplinary research conference on food and poverty in the UK: taking stock, moving forward.

In April 2018, Kings College hosted the first UK research conference on household food insecurity.
This event was a platform for the presentation of recent multidisciplinary research on food and poverty being conducted across the UK and facilitated knowledge exchange between participants while promoting discussion on key research priorities to inform policy and practice. Speakers included Prof Valerie Tarasuk from the University of Toronto and Prof Elisabeth Dowler from the University of Warwick.

The All-island Food Poverty Network was represented at the event by safefood and FSA NI. Marian O’ Reilly presented findings from from safefood, the FSA in NI, Consumer Council NI and the Vincentian partnership for Social Justice research project "What is the cost of a socially acceptable and healthy food basket in Northern Ireland in 2014 and 2016?".
